This module offers students an excellent overview of the Old Testament. Cross-cultural workers must be able to properly and appropriately handle God’s Word and teach others to do the same. In this study, students will gain a foundational understanding of key characters, events, and points of geography in the Old Testament, as well as the cultural, political, historical, and religious contexts of Old Testament times. They will receive insights essential to grasping the complete Bible narrative.
2. New Testament Survey
This module offers students an excellent overview of the New Testament. It is essential that cross-cultural laborers be able to appropriately handle God’s word and teach others to do the same. A foundational understanding of key characters, events, and geography, as well as the cultural, political, historical, and religious contexts of New Testament times are pivotal in order to grasp the life of Jesus and the Early Church.
3. How to Study the Bible (Hermeneutics)
This module focuses on how to study and interpret the Bible (hermeneutics). It is important for cross-cultural laborers to appropriately handle God’s Word and teach others to do the same. In this module, we will learn the different genres and literary styles of the Bible, things to discern when reading Scripture, some of the major themes throughout the Word, etc. As well, this module includes inductive Bible studies, character studies, and Discovery Bible Studies (DBS).
4. Four Fields / Training for Trainers
The purpose of this module is to give practical tools and practices for implementing Church Planting Movements (CPMs). The online MTS program includes a complete module on Church Planting Movements (CPMs) and Disciple Making Movements (DMMs) that focuses on New Testament principles behind movement. This module offers practical tools to implement during the entry stage, evangelism, discipleship, church formation, and leadership development.
